Synopsis of book chapter and/or video sessions
Chapter One / Session One: Class Overview
The purpose of this class is to help people resolve core problems. When core problems are resolved,
people are finally able and free to follow Christ's commandment to "love God with all their heart."
We learn how family roots, our past, and decisions we make each play a major role in making us who we
are today. Satan takes advantage of us when we don't forgive others for sins and causes confusion
in us that damages and destroys our relationships. Our journey of hope begins when we recognize our
need to move beyond what we know and begin to trust God to journey with us to experience an abundant
life in Him. We will also experience deeper, richer, and healed relationships with others.
Chapter Two / Session Two: Family Secrets and Past Pain = Present Problems
We look into the connection between childhood experiences and current relationship difficulties and how these are related to our strongholds. Attendees are encouraged to take ownership of their heart and ask God for help to recognize their need and the find the roots of their difficulties. We will discuss how unresolved hurt and pain in our hearts 1) affect the daily choices made by our wills, 2) distort facts in our minds and 3) short-circuit our emotions — causing us to rely on useless time-worn flesh patterns.
Chapter Three / Session Three: Show Me My Heart, Lord
We will study how the enemy triggers our flesh patterns, tempting us to sin, causing us to "ROCK" ("React Off the Chart and Kick someone"). We will see how the sin of our unforgiveness creates bitterness and strongholds in our lives and gives Satan power as he works out his destructive plans. By understanding the methods of his attacks and asking Jesus to overcome Satan's influence in our lives, we can live victoriously in Christ as we allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives.
Chapter Four / Session Four: Having Everything, Yet Having Nothing
As we continue to take a close look at our hearts, we learn to use our five senses to discover strongholds. We show how two people use flesh patterns to interact with each other and how this creates a circle of destruction. We will demonstrate how Christ-like love looks past the faults of others and cares about their hearts. This creates intimacy in relationships.
Chapter Five / Session Five: Against All Odds
We begin to discover the dramatic changes we experience when we give up loving "our way" (from a damaged heart) and allow a Christ-like love to flow naturally from within. Without love, we have nothing and we are nothing. With love we have everything and our relationships are rich.
Chapter Six / Session Six: Seek and You Shall Find
A better understanding of strongholds will enable us to redirect our focus toward God and fully trust in Him. When we uncover the root causes of our heart issues, we can then allow Christ to heal our heart. Satan's goals are to render us weak and less effective in our walk for Christ and create isolation in our relationships. When we just focus on our problems, they grow bigger. However, focusing and trusting in God allows peace even as we deal with our problems.
Chapter Seven / Session Seven: Frontal Attacks from the Enemy
The enemy will use any upset in our lives to turn us from God and distract us from a close walk with Him. Jesus can help us to be more aware of Satan's attacks and plans. Satan's attacks can actually be used to guide us in our search to discover additional hidden strongholds deep in our hearts. We will examine some of life's distractions and how we can refocus on God and His truth to break free of Satan's lies.
Chapter Eight / Session Eight: Peace in the Midst of the Storm
We examine how several people respond "naturally" to their strongholds as they face life's difficulties and how confusing this makes their lives. We will share more on how to experience peace and contentment in the midst of life's challenges. We will study how we can follow the symptoms and evidences created by a stronghold to actually find and resolve that stronghold — instead of just reacting poorly to it and letting it control our lives. Our journey can become a daily process of sanctification as our hearts are being transformed.
Chapter Nine / Session Nine: Truth? Lies? Counterfeits?
We will examine how cleaning up one's heart and learning to love others God's way, creates positive responses from your loved ones. Love is the glue that holds a family together through every crisis. Everything we do, say, think, our attitudes, desires, goals, relationships — everything must be consistent with God's heart or it is a counterfeit.
Chapter Ten / Session Ten: Tie a Knot and Hang On? — or — Let Go!
We can be emotionally devastated in life, but not be destroyed! Whether we are facing death or a tremendous loss, we will study how our only option, always, is to completely trust in God. Many things in life are out of our control, but knowing how to live and actually living a life fully dependent on God creates peace. Only then can we truly accept any outcome.
